To create thriving habitats for all species dwelling along the River Sgitheach
Understanding natural systems better so that we can help restore the balance for future generations
With many major ecosystems under threat globally and species going extinct every day, Planet Earth is at the brink of a 6th mass extinction. To encourage biodiversity we dedicate this land primarily to ecosystem and habitat regeneration for future generations.
The Scottish Government have declared a "climate emergency" and vowed to cut carbon emissions. Globally we need to protect all remaining intact ecosystems and support practices that enhance plant growth, healthy habitats and soil carbon fixation.
Now that our native woodland of 3000 trees and orchard of 60 fruit trees are planted, we have a lot of maintenance to do. We welcome help tending to the woodland and orchard as well as removing old fencing along the river.
We have a cosy riverside holiday cottage which sleeps four and can be booked all year round. To make a reservation please email us directly or through Airbnb here.
Gabrielle & Tim have both worked for nearly two decades with ecological protection and education. We put our expertise into seeking beneficial relationships which serve all species in a system.
Katewell is nestled in the foothills of Ben Wyvis, a Munroe (mountain over 3000 feet) in the Scottish Highlands, only 20 minutes from Inverness. We are within easy reach of the West Coast and on the North 500 route.
